Sheila Thornton, President/CEO
Sheila Thornton is the President/CEO for OneFuture Coachella Valley. She works with key education and business leaders to implement the Coachella Valley Regional Plan for College and Career Success, a five-year strategic plan that lays out regional strategies designed to produce an educated workforce and assure Coachella Valley students are prepared for success in college, career and life.
Prior to her current role, Sheila was a health workforce and leadership development consultant providing project management and coalition building expertise to a variety of industry, education, and community organizations. She has assisted organizations with strategic planning, mission advancement, cross-sector partnerships, organizational structure, grant writing and management and program implementation.
Sheila led the development of the Healthcare Industry Council, the region's first ever coalition aligning economic development and education strategies to prepare a quality healthcare workforce for the future of the industry. The Council has expanded opportunities for low income, disadvantaged students to succeed in Kindergarten-12th grade health career pathways programs, college health sciences programs and higher level health professions. Sheila also works with a variety of Inland Empire organizations across the health workforce spectrum to expand and optimize health career pathways education and training programs and align these with industry and workforce needs.
Prior to launching her consulting practice in 2001, Sheila held the positions of Director of Community Services for a non-profit hospital and Analyst/Project Manager for an economic research and consulting firm.
She serves on the California Health Professions Consortium, the National Advisory Committee for Health Career Connection, and the national leadership team for the Ford Motor Company Fund Next Generation Initiative. Sheila obtained a B.S. degree in Applied Math from Loyola Marymount University.
Kim McNulty, Vice President of Regional Success
Kim McNulty is the VP of Regional Success for OneFuture Coachella Valley and has provided leadership since its inception as the Career Pathways Initiative in 2005. Through this collective impact effort, OneFuture CV and partners are working to raise the intellectual capital and workforce capacity of the region by aligning t the community's education, workforce and economic development efforts.
Kim's professional experience includes 20 years in professional services and destination marketing management -- ten years of that as the as Film Commissioner for the desert resort communities. As Film Commissioner, she served on the Marketing Committee for the California Film Commission's Film Liaisons In California Statewide (FLICS) and co-founded the California On Location Awards (COLA) event.
Kim currently serves on the Desert Healthcare District Program Committee, the Leadership Council for the Ford Motor Company Fund's Next Generation Learning National Network, and is a member of the Riverside County Workforce Development Board's East Region Committee. In addition, she helped pioneer the development of Xavier College Preparatory High School in Palm Desert, CA. Xavier is the first lay-built, Jesuit-endorsed high school of its kind and one of seven Jesuit high schools in the California Province. McNulty currently serves on Xavier's Board of Regents and is the founding President of Xavier's Parent Guild.
Kim McNulty is a native of Palm Springs, California. She attended the University of San Diego and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
Ernie Rios, Vice President of College Success
Ernie Rios serves as the Vice President of College Success. He was born in the Coachella Valley and raised in the community of Thermal. After graduating from Coachella Valley High School, he attended College of the Desert, transferred to UCLA and graduated with degrees in Film Production, History and Political Science. While in Los Angeles, Ernie worked within the Music Video industry, LATV, and the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival to name a few. After returning to the valley, he completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the UCR Palm Desert Graduate Center.
In his return to the valley, he has become actively involved in the development of after-school programs for valley youth and worked with numerous local governing agencies and community-based organizations in developing new business opportunities throughout the region.
In addition, Ernie is a Councilmember of the Riverside County Thermal Community Council, Vice-President of the Thermal Chamber of Commerce, and Vice-President of the College of the Desert Alumni Association. His hobbies include film-making, painting, building low rider cars, and working with students to help them strategically identify resources that can assist them in becoming successful professionals.
Beth Allan-Bentley, Director of Research
Beth Allan-Bentley has been working in Marketing and Market Research for more than 20 years. Prior to OneFuture CV, she worked for the Los Angeles Times/Tribune Company generating research and strategic insights to better understand trends, advertiser/consumer expectations and potential growth within the media landscape. Most recently, she was Sr. Manager, Research Development working with multiple stakeholders within the Los Angeles Times on issues related to small businesses, mobile apps and segmentation. Beth was an analyst and consultant for Real Data Strategies, a real estate consulting firm and the Market Research Manager for The Desert Sun (A Gannett publication). Beth has designed and managed numerous marketing and research projects, and is a qualified focus group moderator. She holds an MBA, with a concentration in Marketing, from Michigan State University, and is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Coachella Valley.
Jacqui Tricco, Business & Finance Manager
Jacqui Tricco spent the past ten years in sales and marketing in the financial banking and pharmaceutical industries. She brings a wealth of knowledge to OneFuture CV as Business & Finance Manager. Jacqui holds a BA in Communications and a Business Certificate with an emphasis in Business Law from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA.
Cristina Gregorio, Director of College & Career Success
Cristina serves as the Student Services Coordinator for OneFuture CV. She is a first generation college student who, after attending Indio High School, went on to obtain a dual Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Communication Studies from the University of San Diego (USD). She is scheduled to complete her Master's Degree in English this summer. After college, Cristina went on to work at USD where her role focused on the educational experience of first-generation college students. After working at USD for nine years, she returned to the desert and accepted a position with the University of California, Riverside where she assisted with outreach efforts. Most recently, Cristina taught English as a Second Language at College of the Desert. In addition to working in an academic setting, she has utilized her Spanish language skills to provide translation services to government, public, and private agencies for the past 11 years. In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her two children and her husband, Dennis.
Oscar Fonseca, Mentors Advising Services (MAS) Coordinator
Oscar serves as the MAS Coordinator for OneFuture CV. He was raised in the City of La Quinta where he graduated from La Quinta High School. He attended College of the Desert, and then transferred to California State University, Fresno (Fresno State) where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies and Masters of Science Degree in Student Services with an emphasis in Higher Education. Oscar has worked in the field of education for the past 10 years in various capacities with organizations such as California Mini-Corps, Fresno County Office of Education, Fresno Unified School District, and Big Brother Big Sister. Most recently, he worked as a Counselor for the Upward Bound at College of the Desert where he helped students with their university/college admissions process, financial literacy, and overall higher education experience. Oscar is passionate about student success and advocates for equality for all students.

Roula Roe, Operations & Development Coordinator
Roula Roe serves as Operations & Development Coordinator for OneFuture CV. Prior to this position, Roula has held a variety of transforming positions. She was a District Retail Manager for Ladies Sports Wear, troubleshooting underperforming retail outlets in the Kelowna and Vancouver areas which successfully turned around these poor performing stores in 3 years! As Director of Admissions & Marketing for Fraser Academy School in Vancouver, Roula developed marketing and business development strategies for the K-12 Learning Disabilities Independent School leading to a doubling of school enrollment in one year. As Director of Marketing for Full Circle, Roula created fundraising literature and organized events for troubled 8 to 18 years old boys placed in group homes in the greater Marin and Sonoma counties. At College of the Desert (COD), Roula managed the $700,000 Federal Annual Grant Budget for COD Title V Cooperative Grant aimed to increase student retention, implemented faculty training workshops, and established an endowment between CSUSB and COD. She also created and managed COD's Transfer/Career Center, doubling the number of students utilizing the center in one year. Roula was awarded Top Performer from the United Way as an outreach spokesperson, responsible for the highest grossing fundraiser since the inception of the United Way in Vancouver, Canada. Her specialties are marketing, development, community outreach and public speaking.
